Bowman Power Group Ltd (Bowman) is pleased to welcome Keith Douglas to the company as Head of Performance Engineering. He will be located in the company’s office in Southampton, England.
Keith is the latest of several strategic new hires made by the business in the last 12 months. This follows a successful capital raise of £4.6 million in December 2017 and a strengthening order book for their flagship ETC 1000 energy efficiency technology.
Keith will take responsibility for the performance engineering team at Bowman and lead efforts to identify and optimise applications for Bowman’s high-speed electrical machine based energy efficiency products. He will serve as a vital customer interface, working directly with the company’s growing client base to enhance the performance of their engines and generators.
Prior to joining Bowman, Keith worked for two engine and genset original equipment manufacturers, a key market for the company. Most recently he worked as Senior Performance Engineer at GE Jenbacher and before that, Technical Advisor for Gas Engine Performance at Cummins.
When asked about his new role, Keith commented “In all my roles I’ve always been passionate about ways to enhance engine performance and reduce emissions. It’s clear to me that Bowman has huge potential in these two areas. I look forward to using my experience to help apply and further develop their Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) technology to meet the growing requirements of the industrial engine market.”
Paul Dowman-Tucker, CEO of Bowman, said “We’re really excited to have Keith joining the high-calibre engineering team at Bowman. His specialist skill set perfectly complements those already in the company and will enable us to improve the quality of our service, and the efficiency outcomes our customers achieve.
He will also play a key role in shaping our product strategy and helping us to identify where we can exploit our cutting edge high-speed electrical machines technology, to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.”
