The East African Power Generation Convention (EAPIC) is the centre stage of East Africa’s power industry, and is a key platform for businesses dealing with power supply and services. Regular attenders of the regional event are utilities, governments, investors, large power users, IPPs (Independent Power Providers), consultants, contractors and regulators, all of whom benefit from the wealth of knowledge sharing and discussion taking place at EAPIC.

EAPIC Conference Director, Irene Ochem, said this year’s gathering will enable professionals and stakeholders to explore ways of enabling the region to meet its generation capacity goals.

The conference offers a comprehensive programme, with over 50 influential speakers from all areas of the sector, as well as providing a showcase for the latest innovations and solutions for the power industry. More than 1,000 delegates are expected to gather in Nairobi for EAPIC, which comes at a time when the region is preparing for significant investments in the power sector.

Africa currently suffers from high operational costs and a poor quality of power supply, with electricity requirements rising year on year. Heavy investment in reducing the cost of generation is needed if Africa is to bring its planned capacity in line with its expected demand.

As well as bringing together the region’s leading power companies and services, the event also provides practical workshops with the purpose of demonstrating where large power users can improve efficiency and productivity.

About the convention, EAPIC’s website explains; “If you have challenges around power generation, T&D, finance or clean power, East African Power Industry Convention is the right place to find suitable solutions and help you optimise your organisation’s performance.”

Bowman Power Group is delighted to support strategic partner Powertech System Integrators (PTSI) throughout EAPIC. Earlier this year, Bowman and PTSI announced a new partnership, combining Bowman’s Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) energy recovery technology with PTSI’s power solutions to offer new energy efficiency solutions for clients with intensive fuel consumption.

The new Power Cube will enable Powertech to rapidly deploy the proven Bowman solution to companies across Africa, reducing fuel consumption for power generation and cutting operational expense. Our ETC technology has been proven to directly contribute in reducing fuel consumption and improving overall efficiency in a variety of generator sets.

Meet the Bowman and PTSI team at stand 304, where you can learn more about Bowman’s proven ETC technology, which significantly improves engine efficiency and power density, and PTSI’s extensive solution portfolio for the power sector.
