Bowman Power Sales & Marketing Director Paul Shoemaker, had the opportunity recently to present the company’s technology at the Energy4PowerLive Conference at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
He underlined the fact that “Efficiency is driving the global market, and Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) Systems designed and manufactured by Bowman Power deliver 6-9% efficiency improvement.” He also highlighted that Turbo Compounding itself is not new. “It has been around since as far back as 1948, when the US Navy issued the first order to the Wright Aircraft Company. Based on similar principles, the Bowman Power Group in Southampton was the first company to design a cost effective and commercially viable solution for Electric Turbo Compounding in engines ranging from 0.25MWe to 4MWe”
This is the second time Bowman Power has been to Energy4PowerLive but the first time it has presented its technology and exhibited. The exhibition is a valued networking venue with conference speakers at the top of their respective fields and attended by a range of high-profile businesses and key players within the Power and Distributed Power Industry, making this the perfect opportunity for Bowman Power to showcase the additional power and efficiency benefits it offers generators set users.
The event demonstrated clearly how quickly the market for Distributed Power is growing. Senior Sales Manager for Bowman Power Group, Oliver Merz, who was also attending, said: “We need to educate the market about our solutions. We need to be known and recognised, so that other companies are aware of the benefits of the Electric Turbo Compounding – we are looking forward to attending next year”.
