Bowman Power Group Ltd (Bowman) fundraised for Asthma UK at the Simplyhealth Great South Run and placed first in the Men’s Medium Business challenge, with the fastest group time overall. This achievement follows weeks of training and fundraising at the company’s office in Southampton UK.
Ten runners entered from Bowman, covering a range of experience levels, from first-time runners to Ironman competitors. Across two teams, the runners’ times were added together for team totals, from which Bowman placed 1st and 6th out of twenty companies.
Those who didn’t run also got involved, with a cake sale helping to raise funds and support the runners before the event.
As a result of their hard work Asthma UK have named Bowman as their fundraising team of the week. The team’s fundraising page can be found here, and further donations are expected this week once those collected offline are added to the total.
Paul Dowman-Tucker, CEO of Bowman, added “I’m very proud of the team’s efforts in both supporting a local event and in raising such a large amount for Asthma UK. There’s been a real buzz about the race throughout the office and I look forward to seeing more from our team as they continue to fundraise and compete in the future.”
Bowman’s runners were Angus Wooding, David Wood, Gael de Crevoisier, James Prenter, John Konnakkottu, Kamran Ishtiak, Marcus Lee, Mike Hartridge, Owen Creese-Smith and Steve Wallington.
